Common Sense Industries, Inc. utilizes Amazon’s FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) to offer segments of its product line to retail consumers.
I developed a complex Google Spreadsheet to calculate the net profit of each product listing after all of Amazon’s fulfillment fees are deducted from the gross revenue of each sale.
The fulfillment fees are based on a number of different criteria, including product category, weight, volume, and selling price. Additionally, there are fixed fees associated with these services such as warehouse storage, and shipping fees to send the goods to Amazon’s fulfilment centers.
The final spreadsheet allows the user to identify the size class of a product, select the product’s category and size class from pre-defined menus, and input other required criteria such as product weight. The spreadsheet will then automatically calculate all of the fees associated with selling an individual unit and the net profitability based on a given selling price. This allows the user to toggle the selling price to determine maximum profitability vs ideal market price.
I utilized conditional formatting, VLOOKUPs, data validation, and nested formulas to complete this project.
